The last time we wrote about Naomie Gosal, we said she was uncommitted, patient, and following her gut.
Her gut was right.
Naomie has committed to the University of Victoria. The school that fit both the soccer and the academics, the two things she has never been willing to separate. The Master's in Education, the daycare, the future she has been building since she was five years old. It all has a home now. UVic.
In March 2026, she suited up for Team BC at the Whitecaps Academy Showcase, one of the most watched events on the provincial calendar. The scouts are there. The coaches are watching. It is the kind of room Naomie has always sought out: the one where the stakes are real and the competition is the best available. She has never had trouble showing up in those rooms. She has always found a way to make them smaller.
The girl in the pink cleats picked her school. The holding midfielder who plays through sprained ankles and thrives in chaos is going to Victoria. And somewhere down the road, she is still going to run that daycare.
Some people take forever to figure out what they want. Naomie Gosal has known since kindergarten. She just had to find the right path to all of it.
Looks like she did.
Congratulations, Naomie. To you, to Gary and Sharline, to Bennett and Leo and the whole family that showed up every single weekend, drove to every tournament, and never stopped believing. This one belongs to all of you.
